Creating an "App-Smashing" Lesson
The lesson I chose was based off of Seth Lickteig's 'Inquiry Based Learning' model and Dr. Burenheide's Wax Museum. I want students to develop research skills. It is one of the most crucial skills a person can have in this technological age. It is important that students are able to find and recognize reliable, credible sources. They must also practive compiling this data or information and presenting it to an audience.
To create this App Share, I used Safari, Camera, Photos, Pinterest, YouTube, and Thinglink. I modeled the research I did for Dr. B's Wax Museum for my students. I want them to get a general idea of what I am looking for but I also want to see what they can come up with on their own. The assessment will be their final performance. This will be shared with my students so they have access to my example and I will be in class to answer questions they have.
Overall, Thinglink is an easy to use, straightforward app that pulls information and resources together in a user-friendly way. I am confident that students will understand what they are being asked to do and all of the information will be in one place for them, which is great. Also, if they were so inspired to create their own thinklink project, they would be very capable of doing so.
